Just in case you thought I didn’t believe in a little sweetness…I created this recipe as part of my ‘nothing naughty treats’. As humans we are actually programmed to desire sweet foods, but not to the extent modern man has been consuming sugar and herein lies the problem! Because of the amount and type of sugar we consume nowadays, many of us have become completely addicted to sugar in all it’s forms! So as part of teaching you how to break your sugar addiction on my 28 day Eat Yourself Healthy program, I want to show you how you can still enjoy a little sweetness, without becoming physically and mentally addicted! Remember, because of the addictive nature of sugar, it will take time to kick the habit, but the recipes on my blog and e-book will guide you towards making life changing, healthy, low sugar choices, So relax and enjoy!

What you’ll need…
- 1 ripe avocado….Trust me on this one, you won’t actually taste the avocado but it adds beautiful creamy texture as well as healthy fats!.
- 1/4 – 1/2 cup cacao powder, try to choose a sustainable, organic raw cacao where possible
- 1/4 cup of brown rice syrup or 6 – 8 drops of liquid stevia or 1 medium banana
- 1/2 tsp natural vanilla extract or 1/2 tsp of natural vanilla essence
- 1 dessert spoon of virgin coconut oil
- 1/2 cup of organic coconut cream
- 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 cup of crushed raw cashews or roasted macadamia nuts – to sprinkle on top
How to make…
- Place all ingredients in a high speed blender on high for 30 seconds until mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Spoon the mixture into small serving bowls or glasses and place in the fridge to set for a couple of hours or until firm to touch.
- Serve topped with fresh raspberries or strawberries and a sprinkle of crushed raw cashews or toasted macadamia nuts.

Hi Iman You do have to watch how much raw cocoa you consume yes, as it can trigger inflammation if you eat too much, but so too can sugar in low cocoa chocolate, always look for products containing raw cacoa over cocoa as it is richer in naturally occurring minerals because it is less processed. If you are experiencing any acute inflammatory related symptoms, be sure to moderate your intake of quality high cacoa products and observe how your body responds after avoiding . I find my body can tolerate a couple of squares of 85% dark chocolate a day with no problems, that way I still get the benefits of the naturally occurring anti oxidants and magnesium. 🙂

I wanted to ask can you consume organic raw cocoa powder if you suffer from autoimmune since I know cocoa is a bit stimulating. Is it best avoided on an anti-inflammatory diet until you heal?
